Our commitment
The Career Intelligence Network is committed to ensuring our platform is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and semantic elements throughout the platform.
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (forms, buttons, links, menus) are accessible via keyboard.
- Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
- Responsive design: The platform works across screen sizes from mobile to desktop.
- Form labels: All form fields have associated labels. Error messages identify the field and describe the issue.
- Alt text: Images include descriptive alternative text where meaningful, or are marked as decorative.
- Focus indicators: Visible focus outlines appear when navigating via keyboard.
- No auto-play: We do not auto-play audio or video content.
- Text resizing: Content remains readable when text is resized up to 200%.
Known limitations
We are a small team building a new platform, and we recognise there may be areas where accessibility can be improved. Current known limitations include:
- PDF reports: Downloaded Brief PDFs may not be fully screen-reader optimised. We are working on improving the tagged PDF output.
- Data visualisations: Some capability score charts may not convey all information to screen reader users. Equivalent data is available in text form within the Brief narrative.
- Third-party content: Some embedded content from payment providers (Stripe) operates under their own accessibility standards.
AI-generated content
Career Intelligence Briefs are generated by AI and delivered as structured text. The content is designed to be accessible by default — it uses standard paragraphs, headings, and lists rather than images of text or complex visual layouts.
Assistive technology
We test our platform with:
- Modern screen readers (VoiceOver on macOS/iOS, NVDA on Windows)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom up to 200%
- High-contrast display modes
Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our platform, we want to know. Please contact us with details of the issue, including the page URL and what you were trying to do. We take accessibility reports seriously and will work to address them promptly.
Alternative formats
If you need your Career Intelligence Brief in an alternative format (e.g., plain text, large print, or a specific file format), please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
